If you are looking for wind chimes with a pretty heart motif, here are two by Red Carpet Studios to choose from:
The first has a rustic copper heart crossed by wires with painted metal daisies and has a charming naïf feel to it. Red Carpet Studios 10984 23-Inch Rustic Element Metal Wind Chime, Heart costs $14.99 via Amazon.
The second is slightly longer with an elegant wire and glass ‘mosaic’ heart decoration.
Red Carpet Studios 10945 24-Inch Copper Tunes Wind Chime, Mosaic Heart
costs $12.99 also via Amazon.
Both heart wind chimes have four copper plated anodized aluminium tubes in varying lengths to create the chimes. They’d be perfect for a verandah or porch to add a soothing musical background on a breezy afternoon.
I have a secret fondness for daisies, so the rustic one would be my choice. Which one do you like best?
Crystal hearts have such a wonderful energy that they make great gifts for all sorts of occasions. Children love them – so think of them as stocking fillers, unusual party gifts or collectibles. Adults enjoy them too, so smooth and tactile and pretty to look at, so they would make unusual wedding favours and loving tokens of affection.
Crystal Age offers heart shapes in all sorts of different crystals, from rose quartz (pictured), to red jasper, orange carnelian, onyx, sodalite and many more. Each crystal has different energetic properties, so if you are interested in that aspect rather than just prettiness, read up on their qualities before making your selection.
These crystal hearts are available from Crystal Age, based in the UK and there is worldwide shipping available. Rose quartz hearts cost from £1.99 to £59.99 depending on size.

A heart hole punch – essential romantic tool or waste of office space? I’m not sure whether I would buy this just for Valentine’s Day, unless I had a whole class full of small kids to entertain, but it could be fun to have around to liven up office life, or even just for the heart shape confetti it produces as cut out leftovers.
On second thoughts it could be just the thing for a wedding to punch holes for ribbon threading in menus or programmes and I’m sure there are many other creative uses we could come up with. What do you think would be a good use for it?
Suck UK Heart Hole Punch (SK HEARTPUNCH1)available from Amazon.com costs $15
Such a pretty bracelet with its colorful beads and wire heart detail, that it hardly needs the added incentive that it’s also about as eco-friendly as it gets.
The beads are hand-made from recycled paper sealed with non-toxic lacquer, the wire is re-purposed, and the whole thing is made in a Fairtrade project by women in Kenya and Uganda. Beyond that for each bracelet purchased a donation goes to a Children’s Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya. The ultimate in feel-good green living!
It would make a great little Christmas gift, perfect as a stocking stuffer or buy it for yourself. I’m tempted!
Buy directly from Acacia Creations for $14.50.
or if you prefer buying through Amazon, the same Recycled Paper Multi-Colored Heart Bead Bracelet is available there for $23.99.
What do you give a pink princess for her birthday if you are yourself a green goddess?
Most of the pink paraphernalia on sale these days is not very eco-friendly: pink plastic, sparkly plastic, all non-bio-degradable and destined for the landfill. But if her heart yearns for a musical jewelry box, pink of course, here is a reasonably eco-friendly solution.
This gloriously tacky heart-shaped musical box is made from recycled fibers and features the Eco Snoopers – cartoon characters that I haven’t yet come across, but who apparently go on environmentally friendly adventures. Now there’s a good message for the kindergarten gang to engage with.
So it’s pink, it’s kitsch, but it’s a heart, it plays music and she’s bound to love it!
Eco Snoopers / Heart-shaped Musical Jewelry Box, Pink costs $14.99 from PECO on Amazon.
Who knew that you could get eco-friendly watches as super-cool and funky as this! Sprout is a watch company that professes to make its watches as eco-friendly as possible without promising the impossible. It says that the watches are about 80% eco-friendly, which is impressively honest!
The watches come in a huge range of fun designs, but this simple heart motif is perfect for the young at heart romantic with green sensibilities, or the eco-warrior teen with an eye for fashion.
Sprout uses corn resin in place of plastic – renewable resource and bio-degradable; mineral crystal for the watch face instead of plastic plexi-glass; mercury free batteries; bamboo for the dial; and of course recycled packaging materials.
