This cute little heart-shaped glass bottle could be used for so many things. Fill it with jelly beans for kids’ Valentine’s Day favors; glass beads and jewellery thread for a fun birthday gift; or use it to hold flowers at every place at a wedding reception. It’s only small, measuring 3.25 inches, so the cuteness factor probably outweighs the usefulness, but cute generally wins out for wedding and party favors anyway.
At only $2.25 each the heart glass bottles are very affordable and a great boost to creative ideas for all sorts of gifts. I’m thinking of using them for little Christmas jars of preserves, lemon curd or marmalade, once I’ve worked out a way of sealing them properly.
Heart Shaped Glass Jar Favor Bottle with Cork 3.25″, 1-pack is available from Amazon. Delivery costs more than the bottle itself, so it makes sense to order a whole bunch, or make it part of another order.

A heart hole punch – essential romantic tool or waste of office space? I’m not sure whether I would buy this just for Valentine’s Day, unless I had a whole class full of small kids to entertain, but it could be fun to have around to liven up office life, or even just for the heart shape confetti it produces as cut out leftovers.
On second thoughts it could be just the thing for a wedding to punch holes for ribbon threading in menus or programmes and I’m sure there are many other creative uses we could come up with. What do you think would be a good use for it?

What do you give a pink princess for her birthday if you are yourself a green goddess?
Most of the pink paraphernalia on sale these days is not very eco-friendly: pink plastic, sparkly plastic, all non-bio-degradable and destined for the landfill. But if her heart yearns for a musical jewelry box, pink of course, here is a reasonably eco-friendly solution.
This gloriously tacky heart-shaped musical box is made from recycled fibers and features the Eco Snoopers – cartoon characters that I haven’t yet come across, but who apparently go on environmentally friendly adventures. Now there’s a good message for the kindergarten gang to engage with.
So it’s pink, it’s kitsch, but it’s a heart, it plays music and she’s bound to love it!
Eco Snoopers / Heart-shaped Musical Jewelry Box, Pink costs $14.99 from PECO on Amazon.
For some reason these rainbow sugar hearts appeal to the child in me. My kids adore decorating home-baked cakes with all sorts of frosting and sprinkles and I’m sure they’d go for these in a big way. I’d love to decorate birthday cakes, cupcakes and cookies with these myself – the colors are so pretty.
It’s hard to tell how big they are from the picture, but I would hope that they are a fair amount bigger than your average sprinkles, as they are not cheap at $18 for 144 shapes. These are the type of decoration to arrange carefully, one per cookie or cupcake. Or use a circle of them for a spring themed cake at Easter.
